Update on the Boat Launch and Water Levels

PLCA members have had questions and/or concerns about the public boat launch. Terry Kimmel has been in touch with the MNR and received the following response:

Thank you for your emails concerning Pike Lake. To address your email regarding the boat launch; the road access and launch were fixed on November 10 2015 and the log has since been removed. This launch was originally created for the use of small water vessels and we recommend putting vessels in the water with a vehicle capable of doing so (i.e. 4X4) for better traction. “

Also, many PLCA members have asked questions about how the water level on Pike Lake is determined and maintained. Terry contacted the Ministry of Natural Resources and was able to track down the person responsible. David Coleman from MNR sent a response which is contained in the attached document. It is great to see some response from the MNR on this issue and, if there is more you would like to hear on this matter, please send a note info@pikelake.ca and we will try to keep the conversation with the MNR going.
