The PLCA's response to the TVT Official Plan

posted Feb 5, 2014, 7:17 PM by Pike Lake Webmaster

The PLCA has delivered its response to the Tay Valley Township’s official planning process. A committee chaired by Adrienne Fowlie-Laroque and comprised of Board members Lorne Hooper, Anne Ruggles, Gord McCallum and non-Board member Trish Carson reviewed the issue paper developed by the Township and addressed those issues it felt were important to the members of the PLCA. The report from that committee was accepted by the Board with a couple of additions. Three priority areas identified by Pike Lakers through the Lake Planning Process were (1) protecting water quality, (2) conservation and protection of the natural environment, and (3) development pressures. In this context the issues that were identified and responded to are; waterfront buffers, dark skies, storm water management, climate change, significant woodlands, and wetlands. The attached file contains the letter that was sent to Tay Valley Township Reeve Keith Kerr.

Cheers, Terry
